Alliance Fastpitch Network - Part 2: Joy

Part two centered on the Fruit of the Spirit of Joy — a deep and abiding joy found in Christ regardless of circumstances. This session was again led by Pastor Keala Hoe of Calvary Chapel.

Featured guest speaker Hannah Coor, senior centerfielder at University of Nebraska, shared a heartfelt testimony about overcoming injuries, navigating the transfer process from the University of Oklahoma, and ultimately discovering God’s faithfulness and purpose in Nebraska. Her story reminded participants that true joy is not dependent on circumstances, but on remaining anchored in Christ.

Joy is a deep-rooted, Holy Spirit-produced delight rooted in who God is — not in circumstances, outcomes, or performance.

Joy Comes From Knowing Jesus
"I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!" John 15:11 NLT

Jesus wants His joy in us. His joy flows in us and through us as we abide in Him.

Joy Is Produced by the Holy Spirit
"But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness…" Galatians 5:22 NLT

Joy is produced by the Holy Spirit as we live our lives for Jesus. Joy is not manufactured by us.

Joy Is Stronger Than Our Circumstances
"Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again — rejoice!" Philippians 4:4 NLT

Joy is relational and not situational.

Joy in Competing
"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people." Colossians 3:23 NLT

Joy is in working hard to please Jesus and not man!

Strength Through Joy
"Go and celebrate with a feast of rich foods and sweet drinks, and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don't be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!" Nehemiah 8:10 NLT

Joy keeps you steady. It strengthens you when the outcome is not what we desired. Because joy isn't based on our success but our salvation, we can have joy in all situations.
